White Buffalo Spiritual Society and MTEC Join Forces
This was sent to me today.
I certainly recommend this training program to those who enjoy working with people. Hospitality training courses for our people are becoming more important as the Aboriginal population increases in this city.
Hotels rooms across the city are booming with Aboriginal business/cash for accommodations and hall /facilities rentals
I work in the field and notice that while more First Nation and Metis are utilizing the hotel rooms and banquet halls, the number of Aboriginals working at the hotels don't match up.
I recall one occasion, an Aboriginal group was utilizing our banquet facilities for a meeting and the group starting burning sweetgrass. There was a bit of confusion as to why and can they light this in the hall ? I was quickly able to let the staff know that sweetgrass was an integral part of the First nations traditional customs. and nothing was made of it.
Just a nice thing that someone who knew, was there.
